Things that make me Excited

What makes me excited?

1.  Anticipation:  Looking forward to something that is coming up.

2. Daydreaming: hoping about something that I want to happen.

3.  Fireworks...I love to watch the night sky light up with all the pretty displays.

4. Praise Music:  Brightens my day, my mood, and lifts my spirit.

5.  My Kids and Grandkids:  Happy Days!

6.  Cake....will make me do a happy dance every time!

7.  My Cats....they think I'm wonderful so I try not to disappoint them.

8. Volunteers: ....people who share my passion and vision and show up to work hard and get a project done.

9.  A completed project:  I love checking off an item on my "to-do list."

10.  An adventure:  a day trip, visit the library, a visit from a friend, a trip to Dairy Queen for a small blizzard, visit a greenhouse, a bouquet of flowers from the grocery store, or a movie date.

11.  Nature:  I love a great sunset, fields of flowers, mountains, the beach, sitting on a porch swing sipping sweet ice tea, and watching the world go by.

12. Home:  Dorothy had it right all along....there's no place like home especially if Mr. Wonderful is there beside me.

Hope you weren't expecting something lofty and inspiring.

If a picture is worth a thousand words

You guess it I'm somewhat Scatterbrained today (not that this is anything new to me!) We just got back on Tuesday from a wonderful trip to Savannah and now I'm trying to repack for a colder climate. I have already put away my winter clothes so looks like I'll have to make a trip to the attic to fish them out again.

We are expecting two groups this weekend at the mission. The first are several ladies from Suffolk, Virginia who make the trip on Friday, and pack clothing all day long on Saturday. They have come several times before so this is like spending time with your girlfriends! I'm really looking forward to it.

On Sunday our church is working out in the community all day. One group is coming to our house to paint our tin roof. It's been 7 years since we last painted it and Mr. Wonderful does not do well on the roof as he hates heights. Neither of us "bounce" very well should we fall so this is a wonderful gift from the Lord. I'm so excited about it. The last time Mr. Wonderful was on the roof was to install my weather vane.

We will also have another group from our church working with us at Equipping The Saints. So it will be a very busy day for us going back and forth between two groups at two locations. Say a prayer for us as this will in deed be a busy Sunday for us.

Monday we're off to Chicago where we will spend the night with my sister and check out her cute apartment and meet and greet the friends that she knows. I'm looking forward to invading her world!

Tuesday morning we leave for Saskatoon to see this "pirate princess" and catch up on our fun time. We've got some tea parties, coloring, dancing, park time and cookie baking to do as well as just some plain being silly. I'll get to spend Mother's Day with Becky, Jerry and Emma and I'm looking forward to that!

We are taking the lap top with us so hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures of our adventures.

Good Times are a coming!

Christmas count down.....

I'm getting so excited about having my family all together for Christmas. I love the anticipation and excitement so much more than being surprised. Anticipation is the best part of Christmas.

I'm making a list, checking it twice, gonna try and not forget anything nice. Lets see clothing, presents, baby gate, camera....so many details.

Just about all my projects are caught up at the mission except for a project I'm taking with me to work on. It seems like every one has a "project" that I could use some help right now. I never realized I was so popular!

The closer we get to Saturday the less focus I have. I'm getting so excited to see my babies and spoil them rotten before giving them back to their moms. We have a family photo session scheduled for Monday and you know the divine Miss Em will have to help with making and decorating cut out cookies. I've even found a small rolling pin and cutters for her little hands.

For the family portrait I was told to wear something Christmasy...What do think about this outfit? A little over the top? It's very festive! I would certainly be the star of the picture.

Hope all your projects are finished and you have time to sit back and enjoy the Christmas music, lights, wonder and real reason for the season. Personally I'm enjoying my afternoon cup of tea and thinking and praying for all the wonderful friends and bloggers that have blessed my life.

Know you are valued and prayed up!

Mompoet post about anticipation

funny feeling

The sensation of tearing apart comes back almost more strongly than the happy anticipation of rejoining, in the days leading up to rejoining. I think that's why we cry when we meet again. That last bit of leaving doesn't really leave us until we have you back again.

question: do you know this feeling?

mompoet - feeling it

Mompoet is a blogger friend I met years ago through our blogs.  I loved this poem of hers.
