Visitation

For Christmas this year Charlie gave me what I asked for. It wasn't anything you could wrap and put under the tree but the gift of time.  Time is my love language. I have wanted to join the visitation group at our church for the last 5 years, but Charlie always has pastors' meetings at a local McDonald's and loves to stay and chat afterward.   I asked to join the visitation group that meets at our church and visits the nursing homes and the others.  He has to leave a little early, but we have enjoyed being part of this group.
The first person we visited was Anita Sewell.  I haven't seen Anita for over 2 years, and it was a grand reunion.  She was so excited to see us and showed us with great pride her room and introduced us to the nursing staff.   She is such a dear, so loving and kind.
The week after we visited Jane Root.  Jane will be 100 on February 3rd.  She was delighted to have company and was delightful and told us all about her life.  She gets confused easily but who cares, she tells such delightful stories.
Yesterday we went to visit Jim Simpson.  He and Charlie really seemed to hit it off together and had many similar experiences.  We stopped for Red Beans and Rice at Popeye's on the way home.
