1. Caring about your own happiness. The nice thing about being retired is that now I have the time to do the things I want to do. I no longer have to worry about money, jobs, or responsibilities, and can make my own schedule. Now is my time to do whatever I love. I have been doing some art pieces with mom's vintage jewelry, making bookmarkers with her earrings, and making button bouquets.
2. Caring about your own goals and dreams. If you want to know where your heart is look where your mind goes when it wanders. I am writing more which I enjoy but it is hard to come up with ideas, or stories. I enjoy making cards for my widows and others that are going through physical problems. I have an index card file, so I don't send the same card twice. I doubt seriously that I will put Hallmark out of business.
3. Care about how you invest your time every day. I watch too much TV, exercise too little, and have too many projects that I never get around to doing. I still have lots of areas to declutter, a garden, and flowers to plant. I need to cook and preplan our meals.
4, Care about self-talk and stop doubting your ability. I seem to doubt myself and my abilities or just get lazy and quit trying. I talk myself out of lots of good ideas or plans. Covid isolation hasn't helped, and I am very lazy. The sloth is my spirit animal.
5. Care about how you treat yourself. I am the longest commitment I have ever had, and I need to treat myself well. The way I treat myself sets the standard for others. I am remarkable and worthy of your time.
6. Care about how you treat others. Live in such a way that when others think about fairness, caring, and integrity they think of you. Tell people you love them and appreciate them. Be happy for those that are making progress. Cheer their victories. Be thankful for those who are making progress.
7. Care about your own health. Exercise to be fit. Eat to nourish your body. To be your best, you must give your body the fuel it needs. Good health is essential for having the energy, stamina, and outlook to tackle your goals and dreams.
8. Care about all the wonderful things you have right now. Appreciating the things, you have before time forces you to appreciate the things you once had. Wake up each day thankful for your life.
9. Enjoy each moment. This moment is priceless and it's the only moment guaranteed to you. This moment is life.
