Things I Wish I Knew When I Was Younger

I never know what to write but then I found a book called "List Your Self".  The intro says making a list from various topics will unlock a door to your personal identity .  So here in list form is "Things I Wish I Knew When I Was Younger"....brought to you by my 66 year old self.

1. Read your Bible daily and write down what God is teaching you.  You will make lots of mistakes along the way but not as many if you listen and evaluate your life on a daily basis.

2. Start exercising now (your joints will thank you)

3.  Take pictures of you now. (believe me...you will look back on these days and realize just how beautiful you really were even though you may not like what you see in the mirror.)

4. Be more adventurous.  This is the best time in your life ....physically, financially, emotionally and time wise.

5.  Say "Yes" to more opportunities....especially ones that will stretch you .

6.  Read more....it stretches your mind and makes you more creative.

7.  Tend a garden....what fun to grow something or have beauty around you.  What's better than fresh produce from your own garden?

8.  Quit accumulating stuff....you will only have to dust it, store it, trip over it, or work harder to have a bigger house so you can get more stuff.

9.  Don't overeat.  There are other ways to comfort yourself that will have far less consequences to your health in the long run.

10. Stop being a people pleaser.  You can still be kind, but realize you can't please everyone, all the time ....so do what is right and move on.

11.  Listen more...find out ways to encourage others on their life journey.  Go the entire day without complaining or criticizing.

12.  Make plans, have something to look forward to.....anticipation is one of your driving forces and will give you great joy in your life.

13.  Volunteer to help those in need....you will be the one who gets the most joy out to this.

14.  Do something creative every day...you have a crazy sense of humor, write down your experiences and thoughts.

15.  Make friends with several amazing women that you can do life with.  These are the women that will be there for you, that will pull you out of the pits, and will challenge you to be a better version of yourself.

Hey Kathy. There is a 52 Lists project out there with some great 'list' starters of things to write. You probably can just type in 52 Lists on Pinterest.
Here are some other journal starters: I want to remember (something like this): http://susanbowers.typepad.com/in_the_storm/i-want-to-remember/
Right Now http://susanbowers.typepad.com/in_the_storm/right-now/;
Currents (Reading, Writing, Studying, eating, watching, giving, loving...all present participles) http://susanbowers.typepad.com/in_the_storm/currents/

Just some ideas of things to write for you. Do you remember doing Apples of Gold? You could write little marriage nuggets. Make it a series. Anyways, just wanted to say hi. I love reading blogs.
