Road trip to Sugar Loaf

Today is the last day of the old year. It is a time of reflection and introspection and a time to make future plans and cast new visions. We have enjoyed our time in New York and yesterday we went on a road trip to Sugar Loaf, New York. Sugar Loaf is an Arts and crafts village with all kinds of specialties. We enjoyed looking at the small shops and I bought a handmade bar of soap with orange and cinnamon. It smells great! I also bought a new bracelet and a Christmas ornament. I like getting an ornament that reminds me of some of our trips. Suzy and I enjoyed the candle shop. The outside of the shop was cute with huge candles near the entrance and on the sign. If you look closely you'll see Oscar peeking out from the sling under Suzy's coat. This was his first road trip and also his first time in a restaurant. This diva is racking up a bunch of firsts. The inside of the candle shop smelled heavenly and the candles were all brightly colored and hung from the ceiling. It was really beautiful and a fun place to visit. Tim took several pictures of the candles. The colors are so vivid compared to the rough-hewed beams on the ceiling. Those of you who know me well, know I love snowmen so if there is one around you can be sure I'll find him. This one isn't made from the snow but does greet winter visitors to Sugar Loaf. He seemed pleased to see me and never complained no matter how many pictures we took. Tuesday turned out to be the perfect day to go on a road trip. Today has been cold and snowy and a perfect day for staying home, curling up with a cuppa tea and a good book. Suzy has been working on our Christmas pictures (so everyone looks better than we are!) and has some big plans for Oscar's first New Years' celebration. Film at 11 (okay, so maybe more like next year.) Happy New Year to you and your family.

What a neat place! Sounds like you all had a great time. I can't wait to see Oscar's first New Year's pictures. For a baby he sure is getting around!!!

Our sweet Zoe and her mama and grandmama arrived home safely from Venezuela and we are very grateful.
Our DIL's grandfather died while they were there and they were able to tell him goodbye and be with the family. Thanks for your prayers for them.

Love you dear friend!

This looks like a place that I'd just love to visit! I loved the pictures both here and on FB! I hope you're enjoying each and every moment with Oscar and Suzy and Tim.

I'd love to think that 2009 might be a time for bloggers to get back together somewhere in the region...

Much Love,

Susan
