Ten on Tuesday...10 Things I didn't ike about School

10 Things I Didn't Like about School
1. School Lunches. They were never very good, so most times I brought my lunch. 2. Violence in School.  There were fights after school or between other schools, but we never had to worry about someone shooting you.
 3. Home work. Some teachers believed in overloading the students with work.
 4. Gym class.  Your hair always looked bad afterward and it was always a rush to change clothes and get to your next class on time.
 5. Science projects  .  I always hard to transport my project on the bus and try to  come up with a unique idea.
 6. Riding the school bus. There was always a bully or mean girls to contend with on the ride home.
 7. Lockers.  Trying to unlock your locker, change your books and get to class on time.
 8. Pop quizzes. I seldom studied the night before.
 9. Standardize testing. The tests would last for days and put lots of pressure on the students to perform.
 10. Group projects .  Someone would always forget their part or slack off causing everyone to get a lower grade.

The dreaded locker! I remember so many times not being able to open mine, thankfully I had a good buddy who I counted on to get it open for me most times. He had a trick to pop it open that I could never do! Good thing we had alot of classes together! LOL

I couldn't wait to get out of school, it wasn't my favorite thing...I was the social butterfly, not a student. Go figure! LOL

This made me smile! I told my kids " To behave on the school bus and don't show off"! Not to long ago, somehow riding school buses came up and Carrie who is 51, said you know Mom, I didn't always behave on the bus and sometime I showed off!!! I told her that is why I told you that every morning!! lol
I just read where every thing worked out for you all!Praise God!

Love and hugs, Grams

Thanks for visiting my 10 on Tuesday. :)

Standardized testing is a hot issue, isn't it? There does have to be a means of keeping students and teachers accountable, AND we do want to know if students have really learned what they need to learn, but . . . it is an extremely stressful time for all involved.

Did we go to the same school??? lol I so remember everything you listed...how many times I forgot my lock combination and couldn't get into my locker to change books!!! Bullies...mean girls...ratty hair after gym...someone forgetting their part in a group project...yup, remember all of that too! I always brought a lunch from home and would only eat peanut butter and jam sandwiches so imagine how many I ate between kindergarten and grade 12! lol xoxo

I have a STRONG feeling that I was one of those slackers! I have a STRONG feeling that I felt group projects... or projects in general... were stupid! This is why God made me a substitute school teacher. So that I could look at the kids who were just like me and understand them, even while learning that the kids who were BRILLIANT (or at least tried to be) were really the COOL kids! And then He gave me Krysti so that I could understand how my LACK of enthusiasm for school hurt others as well as myself! (because HER grades were sometimes affected by her slacking project-mates) Now... my only question about all this is ... WHY didn't He have me learn this while I was still young enough to get me that GOOD education!? Ohhhhhh the questions I have for Him someday...

I would agree with all of what you listed... with group projects there is often someone juts relying on the others to do the hard work.

At my school, there was a story that older students locked younger ones inside their lockers, but I never heard of any real person to whom this happened. Aren't you glad we're finished school and in "real life?"

I tried to comment to this post at least 10 times this afternoon. Apparently God does NOT want me to say what I wanted to say... so this time I'm just going to acknowledge that I've read it and that I disliked at least that many things myself! Let's see if THIS comment flies!

You are not going to believe this!! My locker combination was 20 2 27. How's that for a good memory. My locker was beside the smoking area and the football players would keep their coats in my locker so they could grab them to go out for a smoke. I also hated science projects. I was never clever in high school.

Yup, 11 years later I still have nightmares about school as well.

My daughter started Kindergarten on the 18th and she takes her lunch every single day.
