Thursday Thirteen....What I've learned so far

1. Middle age is that point when you realize that all of life is a gift..

2. An empty nest is a settled nest.

3. Every need is not a call.

4. Say little and pray much.

5. Never let too much of yesterday take up too much of today.

6. Who I am is more important than What I do.

7. Relationships are to be celebrated.

8. Freedom is found in simplicity.

9. Pain either destroys or transforms.

10. Life is full of surprises.

11. Perseverance Pay Off.

12. God is in Control.

13. Celebrate life.

Great list...Here is a good one:
"middle age is when broadness of the mind and narrowness of the waist change places." smile

I hope Floozie is NOT right about that! I hope my mind does NOT become narrow as I age! I like an open mind... sometimes.

This is a FABULOUS list Daisy! One of your best ones yet! You know... I remember bein' [] this close to #2! I could almost feel it... I could ALMOST TASTE it! And then... WHAM! Full House! (better than two pair I guess!)

I've learned 6 & 12. I'm not sure I've FULLY embraced all the others! Yet.

Daisy, Daisy, Daisy, you are ONE WISE woman! I have wrestled for years with "the need is the call". I actually heard a pastor say it once. I do think we sometimes refuse to get active while we float in a sea of "needs" waiting for the call. On the other hand, I have taken on responsibility before that was simply plugging a hole in a ministry and it wasn't my passion. Then I found myself worn out and unable to do my best because I was not working in my area of passion.

Love ya,

Susan

Every need is not a call. What a great reminder! Remembering that will help me when I can't get anyone to sign up to help with the preschoolers at church. Instead of complaining, I'll just pray for God to put that call on people's lives and help me and them to recognize it!

The older we get the more we understand what's important and what's not; hopefully.
