Have you ever run around with your hair on fire, smelling smoke
and wondering where it's coming from?
Then you know what kind of day I had today. We are suppose to leave tomorrow for a relaxing but busy time in Savannah. How is it that you have to hurry to complete 900 tasks so you can relax on your vacation?
I got home about 10 p.m. tonight thinking....maybe if I stay up all night I can catch up on the laundry, clean out the refrigerator, empty the trash cans, line up care for the animals, pick up my prescriptions, pack and be ready to leave bright and early tomorrow morning for a 10 hour drive.
My hopes of a successful getaway were further dashed when Hubby decided he needed to mow the yard before leaving tomorrow. My 9 o'clock departure time began ticking away as he enumerate the things left on his "to do" list .
Finally in quiet desparation (hmmm....maybe I do know something about desparate housewives!) I asked him, "When do you want to leave?" To which he responded despondently in barely a whisper, "Monday."
Monday: Hmmm.....that would give us two days to prepare without having to do bodily injury to anyone or possibily "losing our Christianity" out of frustration.
Monday would mean sleeping late tomorrow.
Monday would mean leaving the house clean so it would be clean when we return.
Monday would mean having an opportunity to go to the Library and get some books on tape for the long road trip.
Monday would mean getting to go to the Daylillie and Wine Festival that I've been wanting to attend for the last two years that happens to be this weekend.
Monday would mean plenty of time to finish the laundry and pack.
Monday would mean a relaxing Sunday
I'm starting to mellow out now.....think I'll put on the Mamas and the Papas .
Think I'll chill out with some "Monday, Monday"
"Monday, Monday, So good to me,
Monday morning it was all that I hoped it would be."
.....hmmm yeah!
