Happy Independence Day! July 4, 2005
I love fireworks. I become a little kid again. I ooooh and aaaaah and clap my hands like a five year old at all the pretty colors! Every 4th I look forward to the fireworks.....even if I have to watch them on TV.
I will admit to not liking loud noises. I'm rather skiddish when it comes noise. I tell Charlie that "thoroughbreds are naturally skiddish".
I say skiddish cause it sounds better than scared to death or having to surpress the desire to dive under my bed with the dust bunnies when it comes to booms, pops, explosions, or things that go bump in the night.
One of my favorite memories is sitting on our front porch watching fireworks (at a nice safe distance). One of my least favorite memories is rushing to see the fireworks downtown only to get there after they were already finished!
There is something magical about fireworks! There's something warm and reassuring about
celebrating the fourth with all the tradional food, parades, friends, and yes a movie! Seems like that going to a movie on a holiday is one of our family customs. I'm looking forward to some action adventure today. (Mainly on the big screen) and I'm looking forward to a day of relaxing and counting my blessings.
