Canadian Maple leaves

Today is Canada Day in Canada. I assume it is similar to our national day of celebration of independence commonly known as the 4th of July!
It hardly seems possible that only a week has gone by since I was in Canada with Becky and Jerry. We laughed to see the Canadian Maple Leaf everywhere we looked. (even on the logos of fast food chains like McDonald's and Arby's.)
Sigh.....I miss my girl! Especially on holidays when families traditionally gather together. This year it will just be the two of us and other than making a berry dessert that will be red, white, and blue.....I doubt we will do much celebrating. One of the local vendors sets off fireworks....we can see them from our porch and we will probably listen to the Boston Pops concert on TV. If the weather is good, we may grill out, and eat at the picnic table under the tree. Life is simple and uncomplicated. Life is good!
