One of the things that my Mr. Wonderful enjoys is garage sales. He sees it as a form of entertainment and has gotten some very unique things in the past as well as some colorful treasures. He used to take the children with him on Saturday mornings. Our daughter Suzy really enjoyed going with her dad and he taught her the "art of the deal". She was a tiny little girl with huge blue eyes and would occasionally go up to the seller with her item and say sweetly, " Mister I only have a quarter !" No one could refuse her and most times they would end up giving her the item of her dreams just to see her smile.
These are a few of the things we purchased last weekend.
Book Worm book ends. (Bear in mind all our grand-babies love books and our daughter is a Childrens Librarian.) We can visualize golden books or Dr. Seuss books between it's brightly colored ends.
Multiple colored wooden beads on a leather strap. These beads are probably as old as Mr. Wonderful and me. Our grands love to string items and these are big enough that no one would choke on them.
Two 8 foot strings of mini international flags. We bought these for the mission for some color on the walls. I am going to wash them in Woolite and then iron them before hanging.
So these are my treasures! Have you bought anything lately at a garage sale?

I LOVE all those treasures! Those bookends are adorable - and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Suzy steals them! And the BEADS are priceless! You can TELL they are from OUR childhood days! They are so much NICER than the ones the kids get new today... And those flags will be just PERFECT for the mission! AMAZING! I think God put them there JUST FOR YOU! GREAT shopping Mr. Wonderful!!!
