Have a good hair day!

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head. "Well," she said, "I
think I'll braid my hair today." So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had
only two hairs on her head. "H-M-M, " she said, "I think I'll part my
hair down the middle today." So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she
had only one hair on her head. "Well," she said, "Today I'm going to
wear my hair in a pony tail." So she did and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there
wasn't a single hair on her head. "YEAH!" she exclaimed, "I don't have
to fix my hair today!"

Attitude is everything. As the saying goes: "The kind of life you
will have isn't determined by what happens to you , it's determined by
your reaction to what happens to you."

Have a Good Day. Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is
fighting some kind of battle.

Tasty Tuesday......Perpectives

(Banner totally and unashamedly stolen from Yellow Rose's Garden.....Isn't it awesome? )

Welcome to Tasty Tuesday. On Tuesday's I give myself permission to concentrate on something non-food related that either feeds my mind, my soul or my spirit.

My sister recently sent me this email. Perhaps you have read it before but it reminds me that the way we perceive things affect our attitudes.

Often times a situation is what it is.......Our attitude toward the situation influence how we react to it. In the story below, putting a different "spin" on the situation resulted in gratitude for our ability to see what is all around us on a daily basis.
The Blind Man

One day, there was a blind man sitting on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet and a sign that read:
"I AM BLIND, PLEASE HELP."

A creative publicist was walking by and stopped to observe. He saw that the blind man had only a few coins in his hat. He dropped in more coins and, without asking for permission, took the sign and rewrote it.

He returned the sign to the blind man and left. That afternoon the publicist returned to the blind man and noticed that his hat was full of bills and coins.

The blind man recognized his footsteps and asked if it was he who had rewritten his sign and wanted to know what he had written on it.

The publicist responded: "Nothing that was not true. I just wrote the message a little differently." He smiled and went on his way.

The new sign read:

"Today is Spring and I cannot see it."

Tis the season...sniff, sniff

Is there anything worse than an seasonal cold? You know the kind....coughing, aching, stuffy head and miserable!

Add all these symptoms with holiday preparations and the demands of work and you have one miserable girl.

Today we loaded a container to Tajikistan. We had almost 50 people show up to help! So not only did we hand load 988 boxes of clothing, we were also able to dismantle typewriters ( for scrap metal), box more clothing, and move items to the warehouse for the next container on Tuesday to the Marshal Islands. Wow, it was a tiring but remarkable day!

I was really discouraged this morning ......tired, sick, cold, overwhelmed and disappointed by the lack of response I had gotten when I was called around for help. I really was "sporting a 'tude" by the time I got to the mission to prepare for the task at hand.

What a delightful surprise. People just kept pouring in to help. So I repented of my bad mood and the Lord and both had a good laugh. Why did we laugh?

Me: for thinking I was God's last resource!
God: for knowing I didn't even make the list!

Question: How do you make God laugh?
Answer: Tell Him your plans!
