Happy Birthday America!

Today is the 4th of July. Mr. Wonderful and I have the day off and it's like getting two Saturday's in one week! We will do the traditional grilling out (Hebrew Nationals....sorry Nathan) and grill some steaks this evening. I will watch the hot dog eating contest on Coney Island to see who the mustard belt will go to this year. The watermelon is cubed and ice cold. The potato salad is waiting and I'm making a strawberry, blue berry cream cheese pie (red, white and blue through and through).

We are all set to watch the fireworks from our front porch and watch the Macy's firework on TV where I will oooh and aaah with the best of them. We went to the library last night and stocked up on action adventure books for Mr. Wonderful ( sounds like some serious cave time for my man). I know he also has plans for puttering in his basement and taking an occasional nap.

Hope your Independence Day is full of all your favorite F's....food, family, fun and friends.

Happy Independence Day! Tried to post earlier, but our server went down, so we went to the grocery store for hot dog stuff and we just finished eating them and some watermelon. Wild times at my house for sure. Enjoy the fireworks. There was a very spectacular display at our local baseball team's game the other night. We prefer the Cat's, our local team over the Ranger's, also a local team, but not as fun. :)
So, we aren't going to try to get downtown to see more. Looking at the picture of your grandchild, I see it is a Nathan's hat? or napkin. I nearly bought Nathan's hot dogs this time.

Nancy has had her insulin shot,
and had lunch. I have a few minutes to write a note.
The rest of the gang are up at a friend of my daughter Carrie. They went swimming! Too much sun for Nancy! Lupus patients are not suppose to be in much sun! Besides it is Hot and humid! Glad you had a great Fourth! I think your pie sound so good! Love, Grams
