Sunday Seven....She's Back!

Sunday Seven.....She's Back!

1. Whew! We are backed safely in our own little warm nest after a whirlwind of activities this weekend. As much as I love to travel and to spend time with family I do love having " ruby slippers" that transports you home when you click them together three times and say "There's no place like home." (Well, maybe it was more like a 4 wheel drive, and 4 hours later kind of deal!)

2. Saturday morning we had 20 volunteers from an area church that came and worked with us at the Mission. It was wonderful to see so much work getting done in such a short amount of time. Clothing got packed, medical equipment was inventoried and earmarked for a hospital in Kenya where they do C-Sections on HIV/Aids patient (so everything had to be disposable) as well moving and loading trucks. We had put in a hard half day before we began our journey.

3. We enjoy listening to Books on Tape.....so our trip was much more enjoyable listening to Stephanie Plum novel. We made it in record time to Virginia Beach making no stops as we were engaged in the story (we heard half of it on the way and heard the last half on the way home!)

4. Mom was delighted to get two of her three chicks home to celebrate her birthday. Baby Sister had a birthday cake which she cut up and had pre-plated to share with my Mom's Sunday School class this morning. The ladies were all very welcoming and each told us how much they love our mom. Mom smiled a lot and I noticed she almost glowed with all the attention. (She's so cute!)

5. No homeward bound outing is complete without all your favorite foods mysteriously showing up on the table when it comes time for dinner. If "nothing says loving like something from the oven" then we have been indeed "Well Loved!" ( I may never eat again....oh wait, mom sent home all the left overs!)

6. It's nice to be back in the Nest again where I can curl up with Mr. Wonderful in our very own comfortable bed with our kitties sleeping at the foot of the bed. The sound of the rain on our tin roof is comforting , soothing, and making me suddenly very sleepy.

7. This week I'm looking forward to finally getting some of our furniture delivered (Tuesday) and celebrating the first anniversary of the birth of our Miss Emma (Friday). Our baby is rapidly developing into a toddler now. (click picture to enlarge!) We can't imagine our life without her.

It's been a busy weekend here and I'm looking forward to getting some ZZZZZ's. Dim the lights, cue the music and meet you back here nest week.

It is so good to have you home again. But it sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. I know your mom enjoyed having you there.
But I know what you mean about being home. The older I get the more I like being in my own bed in my own home. There IS just nothing like it!

Daisy, if I was to write a caption for your weekend, it might be, "Home, Home and Home again." You had your church home, your Mom's home, then home to your home-sweet-home. Sounds like a sweet weekend in many ways.

ps - I just read my first Stephanie Plum novel this December - what a hoot!

Sounds like a great week. Nothing passes time faster than spending it with good ol' Stephanie! She is a long-time friend of mine. I can't wait to read #13.
