Lately my life has turned into a long exhilarating roller coaster ride. There have been many highs, followed by sudden plunges, twists, turns, loops, spirals, sudden jerks, slow climbs, and heart pounding suspense. A lot of the ride has taken place in the dark where every twist and turn is a new surprise,
A lot of people love roller coaster rides. I'm not one of them. I'm vanilla in a chocolate world.....occasionally with rainbow sprinkles. I'm the spinning tea cups or a carousel ride.
But not my friend Melli. Melli is excitement waiting to happen. She's the spark in the sparkler, the fire in fire cracker and definitely the queen of the roller coasters. Did I mention that she is chocolate turtle sundae with a cherry on top in my very vanilla world?
To know Melli is to be swept up in a tornado and be deposited somewhere in Oz.( or Dayton, or Bridgewater, or Waynesboro). Wherever we land there are always rules to follow. There must be at least one camera (preferably two or three ), the driver must stop at a moments notice should a photo op present itself and everyone in the car must be involved (whether taking the picture, assisting Melli to climb on anything that doesn't move, or watching out for the local police!) Other rules were added throughout the visit... absolutely no pictures taken where any other blogger had been previously photographed or as Melli would ask, " Is this a virgin picture? You didn't take Floozie here did you?" (and I thought that I was a Diva!)
yellow marigolds ,
brick planters ,
winding stairs,
tanks,
and cannons (oh my)
I tried to stop her.....but I've already been hit by one car too many!
Thank you Melli, is hardly adequate for your time, attention and adventure but it will have to do for now. Your kindness, silliness, and yes, even your"bossiness" blessed me. Blog Sisters are the Best!

Yes, I bet she did "really" go through the car wash. I would say that if she wanted to do something she WOULD do it!! I have been with her enough to know that !! I am so happy that you two had a great time and that you have a nice clean home too!! That is so sweet of her to clean for you. I was hoping that for you!! I would love to help you but right now I dont even care if mine gets done. Thanks for a great blog to let us all in on your fun. Also I am so happy to see you blog style back again. I have so missed it my friend. Love Sandy
ACK! The picture of Beckie should have been taken while I was still on top of the car! Dang! (hind-sight ... always 20/20...)
Girlfriend! You didn't leave much for me to tell! But this is good - cuz I don't really have TIME to blog! It's 10:00... I need to get to bed! Gotta be at work early! (and I have PROMISED to grocery shop tomorrow afternoon! sheeeesh... people always wanna EAT!)
*blushing*... you didn't have to tell 'em ALL that stuff I did! I guarantee you I received far more than I gave this weekend - you just have NO idea! I do SO love you! And yep ... blog sisters ARE best!
I guess I better go put SOMEthin' up on my blog! LOL! And nope... I can't compete with this!!!
Now that's a fun friend to hang around with! lol Isn't it funny how some people are so adventurous and will try anything once...she's the first one I hear of going through the car wash while on the car roof!!! lol I'm so glad you two had fun together:-) xoxo
It seems like a storm blew through your house and life, lol ! Your description is just how I imagined Melli in real life ! It's so nice to be foolish from time to time and just behaving like little girls ! I too would love to ride on the top of my car, going through the car wash, lol ! Never thought about that. From now on Mr. Gattino will be very scared each time I intend washing my car !
Looks like you had more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Glad you had Melli to keep your mind off your knee!
I loved hearing all about it, I loved the pictures, and your e-mail just about made me cry. You just say when and I will meet you girls anytime! Love you, Momma. I'm glad you had such an awesome weekend...you deserved some fun!!
It looks like you had much more than a wonderful time, loved reading about it and seeing those pics!!
Yes, you guys had a whole lot of fun. Like I said to Meli ... its good to have good friends ... cherish them. You are both blessed to have a good friends with whom you can have so much fun!!!!
Yep, Daisy blogger is back. Excellent story, very well told!!!
Daisy, this was a beautiful story. Melli is certainly a treat of a person to know. And, BTW, studies show that people who like vanilla are secretly very exciting. SHHHHH!
sounds like the dynamic duo had quite the extravaganza... loved the reference to the yellow brick road. The W of O has got to be one of my all time favs.
Just got back from an extravagnaza here too, though of the equine variety with my buddy gaynor, galloping so elegantly on our "yellow brick road".
chocolate or vanilla, choose, *sigh* :)
gp in montana
loved reading what a fun time you all had! :)
I used to be the "less mellow" of my friends; now I'm the quiet one. I've done a "Flip-Flop!" Sorry, FFF!!!
I'm so glad you have a beautiful friend like Melli to lead you out of the blues. All the anesthesia leaves you feeling kinda icky for a while, too. But with friends like Melli, you're going to well.
Bless you both!
