Well, my day in court was short lived. We arrived early and court started early. I was told that traffic court is also called the"Rocket Docket" as it moves rapidly.
My first anxious moment occurred when I noticed that officer that issued the ticket was not in court. Often times , if the officer is not present, the case gets thrown out. "Oh sweet Jesus", HELP, " I prayed sending up a prayer flare! I voiced my concern to Mr. Wonderful in whispered panic. He smiled sweetly and whispered back, "It's still early, calm down!"
The second wave of panic hit when I saw the older woman who hit me had brought an attorney with her. "Oh Great, "I thought "I'm sure she's going to plead not guilty."
When the case was called, I found out that her attorney had worked out arrangements that she could plead "Not Guilty" for insurance purposes. The judge was very nice and asked her if she had been distracted which she adamantly denied. She had never been in an accident and never had a ticket in 83 years. The judge smiled benevolently and told her in Virgina the pedestrian always has the right of way, especially in a parking lots . She was found guilt by the judge and fined and her insurance company will pay my medical expenses.
I was never called as a witness. My Mr. Wonderful stood up in court and asked to address the judge after she was ushered out of court to pay her fine. The judge gave him permission and he asked if the judge would stipulate that she pass an eye exam as he had been told that she had cataract problems and would seriously question her ability to see. To our surprise and delight the judge agreed and it will be added on her driving record.
Thanks for your prayers. It was handled before I ever entered the court room. I'm so glad that this part is behind us now. God is good, all the time, all the time, God is good.

AWESOME. Dad gets a gold star for the day for standing up and asking for her eyes to be checked at the end of your hearing. He may have saved someone else's momma from getting run over! I absolutely cannot understand how she could claim she was not guilty. (I'll call ya tonight when I get home from work, chick.)
AWESOME!!I was thinking about you this morning! Between running in and out of the house between showings it's hard to read and post! lol I'm so proud of your Mr. Wonderful, he truly is wonderful! ;) God is good, isn't he? Love you sis!! I'll email when I get a chance....that is when I have more that a few minutes! ;)
Praise God!! I emailed a small WAD of people last night to pray for you guys this morning and I can see that it was all taken care of with that prayer!! YES God is GOOD!! I am so happy!! Mr. Wonderful pulled through once again. I want him on my side if I am ever in court (I hope never)!! I am amazed that that lady could ever plead NOT GUILTY!! How can she do that. I have been waiting all day for your post. I am off to email every one to let them know now. I feel so much better...Love Sandy
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! And Mr. Wonderful was wonderful - as usual! She SHOULD have to have her eyes checked! Congratulations dear Daisy! That part is over now! (any compensation for pain and suffering? That SHOULD come through insurance also -- it did when I had my accident...)
Cool Beans!! I was a little worried about today-first it is the court thing and then it's getting stretched out like stretch Armstrong. Boy, you are a tuff cookie. :)
Gloria a Dios!! I am so glad that is behind you. Mr. Wonderful did a VERY good thing. We will all be at the point one day where we should not drive and it will be difficult but if this poor woman has eye problems she does NOT need to be behind the wheel.
Now, rest your head sweet Daisy, all is well and your prayers have been answered.
Love ya loads!
Praise God, Daisy!! This is great that it went so well!! I glad Mr. Wonderful spoke up, too!!
Wonderful news dear Daisy!!! I had been thinking about you and praying that all had gone well...now I see it did:-) xox

Wonderful! Looks like you started the week on the right "foot". Hope it stays that way and that you are feeling better every day.
Yes, God is great, God is good, all the time!
Well, I've been thinking about you today. Glad things went well and that you had the chance to perhaps help this lady realize that it may be time to consider not driving...or at least have the eyes checked.
Hope you're feeling OK...thanks for continuing to follow my Suitcase Stories.
Hugs.
:-) Susan
I am glad that you will be taken care of, Daisy, and that the driver may be prevented from hurting anyone else.
