Sunday Seven.....A Tribute to Fathers

1. Today is Father's Day and the first whole day that we have been without family around for three weeks. It's very quiet....no baby coos or cries, no "What's for dinner?" or "Where are we going today". The nest is empty and silent with only memories of past events. Mr. Wonderful read a card today (left by our oldest) and it made him "misty" and sentimental. The last 3 weeks flew by, way too fast. Thank you to all our kids and Miss Emma for the gift of your time, laughter and love. We loved every minute of it and will cherish it for a life time.
2. Thank you to daughter Suzy (See Suzy Spin) and handsome son-in-law Tim for their delicious meals and hosting the whole crew while we were in New York. It's hard to come up with ideas for a crew of seven including a baby and a crippled Mom. The spiral stairs on the third floor were a bit tricky on crutches but I would do it again in a heartbeat. Happy Anniversary this week too! Tim, you spoil our daughter and we love you for it. There is no doubt in my mind that you will be a wonderful dad some day because you already excel in everything you do.
3. Thank you to handsome, sweet and always makes me laugh, son Andy. I appreciate you pushing me in the wheel chair, opening doors for me, giving me your arm to lean on, or being there to help pull me up when the chair was too low. I also appreciate you keeping "a little ole lady lookout" for anyone who might want to run me over. I can see that you will make a wonderful dad some day, son.
4. To new dad Jerry.....father of of the cutest baby in the world (not that we are biased in any way). I love watching you with Emma. Your kindness, pride, and protectiveness shine through in everything you do...(whether it is changing a diaper, securing her in the jumper, or keeping her entertained so mom can get some much needed rest. ) It will be interesting to watch you grow and develop as Emma continues to grow and develop. Thank you for this wonderful gift of being a great parent.

5. To Mr. Wonderful, the father of our children and the love of my life. Thank you for being a caring husband, father and doting grand dad. Life with you has always been one adventure after another and I adore you. Happy Father's Day, dearest one!
6. This is a four generations picture, taken this week at my mother's home in Virginia Beach. It was a delight to introduce Emma to her great grandmother but also a little sad knowing how much my dad would have loved to welcome another little one in the family. Dad had three daughters and no sons......he adored being the first man in our life and our first hero. I know he would have crazy about Emma.

7. Thank you to our oldest daughter Becky ( grrrlmeetsworld ) for allowing us some "first things" with Emma. (Emma sun bathing ) It was wonderful to be a small part of her life as she is changing so rapidly . We miss you all so much glad you made it home safely. Sure hope Emma doesn't forget us!
That's all from the Daisy Patch this week. I see the doctor about scheduling surgery on my knee on Wednesday. Hope your week was as blessed as mine. Hugs and Prayers! Daisy

I just loved your comments on your family! I am so glad you had such a wonderful time with your love ones. I started blogging about 10 days ago and have made some nice friends. Grams
I'm already "misty eyed" today for some reason...your post just made me well up again. I pray that my boys will someday marry into a family such as yours where God is glorified and family is central.
Hugs to you again for sharing all of them with us!!
Praying for your doctor visit and surgery.
:-) Susan
Hi Daisy, I just love that photo of Little Emma and Mr Wonderful - what a wonderful photo....
I sneaked down the posts too, to catch up - and there's a magical photo of Emma and her Uncle Andy. Welcome to the Dasiy Patch, Emma - you'll be safe and looked after here.
Good luck with the surgery, my dear.

I especially love the 4 generation photo. My grandmother had a photo of 5 generations. It was really something. So it was very special to have the four of you together.
