Goodbye Old Friend

It's been a sad day in the Daisy Patch today. My sweet faithful friend Spot left this earth this afternoon around 3:30 P.M. We have had Spot as a member of our family for over 13 year and it's sad to no longer have her waiting by the door to greet us.

Spot has been in failing health for several weeks now and the quality of her life has been deteriorating. She was blind, deaf and very unstable on her feet. The doctor found several cancerous tumors growing on her belly today and so with heavy heart we decided to put her to sleep. She had had a very good day and we were with her during her last moments.

She didn't suffer, just went to sleep in our arms. Mr. Wonderful buried her under the weeping willow tree that I can see from my desk window. I'm pretty much a weeping willow right now myself.

In other sad news I did hear from the doctor that I tore my ACL and miniscus and will need orthoscopic surgery and months of rehab. I wasn't surprised but now know what I will be doing this summer.

Poor Mr. Wonderful has tried his best to cheer me up. We will be leaving to go to New York to see our other kids tomorrow. Say a prayer for our safety. I definitely can agree with Mary Englebright....."Everybody needs their own Spot". Goodbye old friend, thanks for always keeping my secrets and showing me unconditional love.

I am so sorry about Spot's passing. I am glad his last moments were spent in the arms of the people who loved him.

Looks like you have a long row to hoe with your knee Daisy. I hope it goes as well as possible.

Have a great time in NY!

Losing a beloved pet is never easy and my heart goes out to you because I know how much you will miss Spot. He had 13 wonderful years with you and I'm sure no one could have loved him more:-) As for your knee, that is such bad luck:-( Have a great trip tomorrow!! xox

Awwww Sweety... What a sad, sad day. I am so sorry about Spot. It is better for her now - and she DID have a long GOOD life! A happy life with a happy family! But I know you will miss her, and I am sad for you.

I'm sad that you're going to need the knee surgery too. I really was hoping for a miracle. But THIS I promise~~ while you are recouping I WILL come down and visit and take care of you! And I won't even make you climb ANYthing! Promise! (((Hugs)))

You've had such a rough go of things lately. I am sorry that our lovely Daisy patch is a little wilty lately. Sometimes those beautiful flowers have to weather quite a few thunderstorms before the sun comes shining through those clouds and helps you lift your petals to the sky again.

{{{hugs and condolences}}}

Oh no! I was so sad when I read this. I know this can be so hard...and on top of all else. I'm praying for you and for your family. May God grant you peace at this time. And may He also be with you in your travels.

Hugs.

:-) Susan

Sorry to hear about Spot. We had to have our poodle put to sleep two years ago right after Christmas, She was 18 years old. Be sure and ask what meds they will be giving you for nausea after surgery. I had a bad reaction to one......it through me into a major anxiety attack (that was one of the sidr effects of the med.) Aak ALOT of questions.

I am SO sorry, Daisy :( It seems like it's just one thing after another lately :( I was afraid you'd have to have surgery...it sounded to me like your injury was too extensive for you to get away with not having it :( I wish I lived closer and could help out, dadgummit...I hate that you're in such a mess!!

Oh Daisy, my heart breaks for you. I love my dog and know I will cry buckets when something happens to him. I know you will grieve for Spot, as you should. Just know that I am praying for you and am sending hugs your way.
Love you, my friend.

It's so hard to say good-bye to these dear friends who give us so much love. I'm grateful you were able to give her such a good life.

So sorry about the ACL surgery. Wishing a speedy recovery.
