Sunday Seven...week 10

A weekly meme for giving thanks and/or for noting important events in our lives.

Play Along?

1. Little Miss Kissable Cheeks (Emma) and her wonderful Momma and Daddy are coming to see us. The tickets are purchased, the dates established (May 26- June 16th) and this Diva is counting the days. The Uncles and Auntie Suzy are excited to meet Miss Emmalee . We will even be taking a side trip so Emma can meet her great grandmother and Jerry can meet Becky's grandmother. I'm excited about getting a picture of 4 generations all together. I want my Emma to know that "these are the strong women she comes from." Anticipation is a large part of my joy.....so dance with me today!

2. We are so excited and pleased that Mr. Wonderful's surgery went well. He is recovering slowly much to his dismay. He thinks he should be further along and back to full steam (but then he also thinks he is still in his twenties too!) He is wondering where his energy went. If anyone finds it please send it back home. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for him this past week.

3. Thank the Lord this week for the time to read a book strictly for pleasure. We are so rushed that we often don't take the time to read just for the pure enjoyment of a good story. I was able to read two books this week that I enjoyed thoroughly. Books are a good diversion for Mr. Wonderful too and kept him somewhat contained and entertained so healing could occur.

4. As full time missionaries, we are considered to be self-employed and always have to pay income taxes on April 15th. Since we know we will owe money to the government we always wait till the last minute to do our taxes. Praise the Lord, the taxes are done and we even have money to pay them! God is good all the time!

5. Praise the Lord that we have hopefully fixed all the "kinks" that come with a previously owned car. We have had the "check engine light" come on twice now. After many trips to the Subaru dealership, ordering parts, and replacing two sensors the light is finally out and all is right at the Daisy Patch! We are taking a road trip to New York and Savannah soon.

6. Praise the Lord for all the calls, well wishes, and prayers for Mr. Wonderful's recovery. We had just sent out a prayer letter (300 letters) so really felt the impact of prayers. I've spent the last few days just answering the phone!

7. Praise the Lord for a wonderful Christian surgeon who preformed Mr. Wonderful's surgery. Several of the nurses told us that he is the man that they go to if they have to have surgery. The doctors that work in this practice support each other so that each of them can take a year off and do mission work. He also waived his charge to what he would get if Medicare paid the bill since he knows we have no insurance. Our prayer is that God will bless him "Real Good!" since he was such a blessing to us.

Well, that does it for my week....Life is pretty much a choice. I could have told you what a lousy week I'm having. My hubby had surgery and is grumpy and complaining , the car broke down, taxes are due and we are in debt to the hospital for thousands of dollars for Mr. Wonderful's surgery. All of it would be true, but this is the verse God gave me this week (Psalm16: 7-9)
"I will praise the Lord, who counsels me:
even at night my heart instructs me.
I have set the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure.
( Cue the music, dim the lights, and exit thankfully for the gift of abundant life!)

Wow...you've had a BLESSED week!! I love the story of the doctor's blessing for you and your husband...and how they extend into the world through that practice. That's so very cool!

Hugs to you!

Good Morning: I am dancing for joy over here for you! Your husband is recovering nicely (and I'm positive all the prayers had a hand in this) - your lovely Miss Emma will be spending an extended period of time with you. Please take lots of photos and share them with us!

On another note: thank you for your kind words on my SS this week. I look forward to your weekly visits. I certainly feel very blessed to have been embraced by such a loving and compassionate blogging community.

O happy day!

You're my kind of people, sweet Momma...always looking for the silver lining! Sometimes it's hard to find, but it's so much more pleasant to think of the good things than drown in the sad ones!
I'm glad Mr. Wonderful continues to improve...albeit slowly. I don't think any man likes being confined to a chair for too long!! :)
And a road trip to Savannah sounds heavenly :)
Love you!

Sooooooo ... Which of those days between May 26th - June 16th is Adopted Aunti M allowed to come visit and meet the one and only adorable Miss Kissycheeks ... and her mom! (and maybe dad?) Which ones? Huh? Which? Yes! I've already TOLD Dennis I'm coming... he's already said okay! Sooooooooo here I am inviting myself to your house again!

Life IS a choice! But the JOY is given to us! Jeremiah 31:13 (NIV)
"Then maidens will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow."

(well... lookit that!)
