This is My Mr. Wonderful standing next to a Gutenberg Bible on display at the New York Public Library. It was printed in 1455 using moveable type. 180 Bibles were produced in 3 years ( the amount of time it would have taken to hand write one copy.) Pretty remarkable accomplishment!

Excellent choice for the theme! You've got me curious now... I wonder where the other Gutenberg bibles are?
Soooooo... WHICH one's the antique?
*DUCKS before Mr. Wonderful hits me!*
Gee, he looks pretty good for an antique ... oh, the Bible is the antique? Oh come on, it's only a couple of hundred years old!
Great picture! Thanks for stopping by earlier!
what a great photo for this Saturdays theme! I did have to lol at Melli and Linda's comments though! My photo is up, please come and visit
Wow! That really is old and so awesome. They have old things like that in Half-Priced Books in Dallas or Plano somewhere. I was fascinated with the antiques they had there on display.
Thanks for stopping by.
Ah, that is such a treasure to behold! Imagine, 1455 and a Gutenberg Bible that must have been a project of love to print and then to have it so well preserved! Amazing!
You know you are going to give Mr. Wonderful a complex seeing he just had a birthday and all with you calling him an antique!! hee hee
Nice choice for the theme..the bible that is! ;)

Awesome photo.
The scripture could be considered antique as well. Amazing how so much can change, but still stay the same! :)

Oh, I wish I could see one of these days a Gutenberg Bible with my own eyes. They suppose to be very beautiful...Thank you for sharing. Great photo for this week's antique theme.
Blessings on your Saturday.
You did intend for the Bible to be the "antique" in this picture and not Mr. Wonderful..... I hope so.
Oh to be able to leaf through those pages.... and what an important technology the printing press is.
How it is made is pretty remarkable. Wow, it dates back so far. Great Antique.
Have a great weekend,
Biker Betty :)

I'm really amazed. A beauty of The Book of Books. My oldest one is from around 1850 - heritage from my grandmothers mother. Fantastic entry.

OK I have put the library on my list of Places to Visit so that I can see that. How lucky you were! It looks like it is just in a regular room, not in a highly sophisticated security area!
That Bible is really the exact photo for the theme. Wasn't able to join today.
I love that picture :) I'm glad you got to see the Gutenburg Bible...how special! :)
Goodness, that is an old bible. How wonderful that he got to see it. Do you know where the other 179 copies are?
