The Three Phases of Women's Lives

Maiden-Mother-Crone or also known as

young woman-mature woman-wise woman.

I like the sound of entering into my "wise woman" stage or "Crone" stage.

My kids are grown, and I now have all this life experience, and great wisdom.....so now what do I do with it?

One of my favorite birthday cards features a woman on it that says, "Are we older and Wiser?" ......"or is everyone else just younger and stupidier?"

One of the books I'm reading right now is called "Crones Don't Wine"- by Jean Shinoda Bolen

Apparently this is rule number one. "What was, was. What is, is. Plain and simple."

To be a crone is about inner development, not outer appearance. A crone is a woman who has wisdom, compassion, humor, courage,and vitality. She has a sense of truly being herself, can express what she knows and feels, and take action when need be. She does not avert her eyes or numb her mind from realitly. She can see flaws and imperfections in herself and others , but the light in which she sees is not harsh and judgmental. She has learned to trust herself to know what she knows.

So the heck with the "Red Hat Society" I've decided to be a juicy crone!
