Charlie in the pulpit

This picture was totally staged for effect.
But the reality took place this past Sunday as Charlie preached in the pulpit of two Lutheran churches in Lexington, Virginia.
They weren't just any churches but churches his dad pastored for 20 years.
Churches he had grown-up in as a child.
Bethany Lutheran has a building that is over 100 year old.
It's a beautiful small church with stain glass windows and high ceilings.
Many of the people have moved away, died out, or left the church,
Those that remain have come to hear " Dr. Bennetch's youngest son, Charles."
Not because he is such a great "missionary" or "speaker" ...........
But because of the love and honor for his mom and dad
long since with the Lord but forever in their hearts.
It's humbling and gratifying to know your parents made a difference
in a very small community
to a handful of people
who still remember.
