Killing Time!

Thought for the day: "As if you could kill time without injuring eternity." Henry David Thoreau

Killing Time: I went to work today and got several worthwhile projects completed.....then I stopped. I wanted to go home but the clock forced me to stay. There are always other projects to do but today I didn't feel like trying to tackle one more problem. So I did the unpardonable....I killed time! I played a computer game, filed my nails, had a cup of tea and watched as precious seconds of my life ticked away never to be seen again. I waited , not so patiently, till "the appropriate hour had arrived so I could take up my life and be free to go on again.".

It seems I've spent most of my life waiting. I can remember hearing me say, "If I can just live past Tuesday, then I'll be alright!" " If only the kids were out of diapers."..."I can't wait till ......(you fill in the blanks). " How sad to realize I've spent time waiting to live my life! Instead of embracing every crazy minute of it I seemed to have thought that my life was on pause till the next big event.

The news of the Tsuinami in Asia is devestating. Loss of life is estimated at 150,000 lives and it could easily be twice that number. Their lives were snuffed out instantously. There is no "do overs" no control , alt, delete button that allows you to start over!

Mother Teresa once said she didn't do great things but little things with a great deal of love! I want to to be able to say that and mean it......Time is too precious a gift to waste!
