Two sets of sisters

Two sets of sisters

Thought for the day:" Freedom is nothing else but a chance to be better!" Albert Camus

This thought also reminds me of Maya Angelou's quote ....."When we knew better we did better!"

Better......interesting word....Not best, as in completed process.....But a continuation ....indicative of continual struggle and evolving.

I spent the day with my sister, and my mother spent the day with her sister.

Even though the four of us were together it still seemed to be a pairing of sisters.

The contrast and similarities of my mom and her sister

are as probably diverse and as similar as my sister and me.

Same root system ,

same tree,

different branches,

similar but different fruit.

My mother and my aunt can both be unyielding and stubborn.

Is this a reflection of me and my sister in 20 years or so?

Both of have said we'd rather be put on an iceberg and set afloat if we ever get to that state......

Who knows maybe my kids think I'm already there!

Yes, it was a very interesting day!

Quote of the day: "The first rule of holes: When you're in one, STOP DIGGING!"

Well, all to quickly my fun weekend with my family is ending. Mom, Bobbie and Aunt Nena are leaving tomorrow morning bright and early to go back to Virginia Beach. What a lovely weekend! I probably learned more about my mother this weekend than I have ever known! Isn't it amazing how you can know someone all your life and never really know them at all. What a rare glimpse to see your mother through her sister's eyes! What a legacy! These are the women I come from! Each strong and wise and each have been victorious in their struggles to raise a family and be independent women. Wow, what insight and what a blessing!
