Final Visit with Mom

We had a wonderful visit with Mom today.  Yesterday she was a little overwhelmed by all four of us. Today she was all smiles and glad to see us. She had moments where her face would light up as she remembered certain events or people. She cried when we left but then so did I.  We prayed with her let her know how much she is loved and prayed for every day.  Thirty-minute visits are just not enough when it comes to your loved ones.  We know that she is being well cared for and our trip to see her has been a bright spot in our year.  We are so thankful for my sister Bobbie and Brother in law Joe who watches over her and visit frequently.  We are blessed and extremely thankful for the opportunity to see her twice during our visit.

Bobbie mentioned Charlie Bear talking to her on the phone about the fish he caught in Uncle Joe's lake.  It was the first time he had ever caught a fish and was so excited about it when he talked to her.  She remembered that conversation and really smiled at the thought.

She also remembered Emma as the sweet little girl who likes me and wears princess dresses.  She remembers she came to visit her in Virginia Beach.  She said, that little girls really liked me.  I don't know why but I"m so glad she does!

We are blessed and extremely thankful for the opportunity to see her twice during our visit.  We asked if there was an opening for visits that afternoon but there wasn't any.

Covid Prayers

COVID has hit close to home among our friends.  Dave and Lynn Stewart's son Kyle is on a ventilator in Savannah in critical condition.  Kyle is 30, single, and is in intensive care at St. Joseph's hospital.  Dave is the mission pastor at Compassion Christian Church so has friends that the church supports all around the world.  Lynn is a very fragile diabetic and has had many serious problems with her health this year.  Dave has lost two family members this year.  His mom died after an accident where she received a brain injury and just recently his brother also passed away.  They are not able to see Kyle so it makes the waiting just that much harder. Kyle is a BIG guy.

Negative covid test for Mom

Praising God for good news about our mom.  My sister Bobbie just called to let me know mom's latest COVID test was NEGATIVE!!!.

Her IV is out, and according to the administrator, she is eating better and drinking more fluids.

They will retest her in a few days and if it is negative 2 times in a row she will be moved out of isolation.   We are thrilled beyond words and appreciate all the prayers and good wishes being poured out on her behalf.

Bobbie was able to talk to mom through the window on Sunday.   Her IV was out and she said mom interacted well and seemed alert.  She has remained without symptoms and we are so pleased by her progress.

Pictured below is a rare photo of the three of us with momma.  Our elusive baby sister HATES to have her picture taken and was not pleased that we forced her to be in the photo, ( or could you tell?)  We will keep you posted about Momma.   Thanks for your prayers and support we are so thankful for some good
news.
