Lord help me hear you

Lord, give me eyes that truly see You and ears that are tuned to Your voice. In the middle of full days and racing thoughts, I confess how easily I miss You.

I rush from one responsibility to the next, surrounded by noise, mistaking busyness for purpose, and I overlook the quiet ways You are moving right in front of me.

You are speaking more than I realize. You are present in the ordinary moments, the gentle nudges, the pauses I rush past. Yet my heart is often distracted, pulled in too many directions, struggling to slow down long enough to notice what You are showing me. Teach me to be attentive again. Teach me to listen with my spirit, not just my ears.

You speak through Your Word, through creation, through conversations, through closed and open doors, and through the soft whisper within my heart. I don’t want to miss any of it. I want to recognize Your voice even when it comes quietly, even when it asks me to wait, change direction, or trust You more deeply.

Give me spiritual sensitivity. Help me recognize Your fingerprints on my days and discern when You are leading, correcting, comforting, or confirming. Remind me that hearing You requires intention, stillness, and surrender. That I must make room for silence and choose to listen with expectation, not hurry.

Humble my heart when I’ve been spiritually distracted. Stir in me a deeper hunger to seek You fully and the patience to wait until Your guidance becomes clear. Open my eyes to see You everywhere and tune my ears to hear You above every other voice, so I may walk closely with You and know You more.
Amen.
