the rest of the storyi

I  have already told you about our Christmas tradition of the12 days of Christmas ribbons I make for my family and friends.   I didn't mention that I don't do one for Mr. Wonderful and it's all his fault.

I used to make one for him, spending hours finding uplifting quotes or personal affirmations till I found out he was more interested in the candy than the heartfelt messages.

I am a very sentimental person married to a very practical, no-nonsense, scientific nerd. I adore the man but he is definitely my left brain equal.  So for years, I kissed him on the cheek and showed him where the candy stash was hidden. Problem solved.

However, 47 years of constant exposure to me has softened my grinch so I have taken compassion on him and bought this decoration calendar with individual doors for candy/ sentiments.  I still refuse to wrap it though.

Oreo, the wonder dog, and I were discussing what to do for our Alpha.  0re0 told me he would write the notes but would need help typing them. I agreed, so dear silent suffering friends bear with us as we celebrate the alpha dog of our pack.

We are already 3 days late so here are the first three messages.

December 1st, Dear Dad, Have I told you how much I love you?  Thank you for rescuing me and calling me your own even though I am older than you.  Are you my pup? Just asking for a friend. 0re0

December 2nd. Dear Dad, Thanks for giving me a name, a home, and 4 small meals plus treats.... a pretty sweet deal for an old dog!  I love my pack and my Alpha dog  0re0

December 3rd, Dear Dad, thanks for giving me a collar (mom's favorite color with bling).  It's ok, but not very butch. I love that you chose me and will wear my collar proudly because it says I belong to you.  0reo
