New Year's Resolutions

Two old people with only one Oreo.

Dear Dad, Mom told me that this is the last day of 2020 and everyone is glad to see it go.  I will admit that it was a really hard year for me till you found me at the shelter.  Now I look at it as the best year ever.

Mom also told me some people make resolutions of how they want their new year to go.  Some even use virtues that start with their name.  Well, I'm game!

O - Obey.  This one is really hard on an old guy with street smarts and a keen nose.  If you are eating I think I should be eating too. (Yes, I know I get 4 small meals a day but it doesn't  decrease my desire for your food.) I will try very hard to do what you ask of me but you will probably have to extend some grace , it's  hard to break old habits.

R- Rely.   Easy one!  I rely on you as my Alpha dog and you can rely on me to tell you if there is a stranger at the door, or to run off stray cats in our back yard. You can also rely that I want to be everywhere you are and especially sleeping in your lap.

E- Eagerness.  Call my name and I'll  come running (especially if food is involved!) or you want to take a walk.  I'm also very enthusiastic about potty breaks!

O- Opinionated.   Hey, I didn't get this old without forming some life rules.   I know what I like and what I will tolerate.  I do have an opinion on costumes, sweaters and dog boots.  It doesn't mean I won't  try it but I don't  have to like it either.

Thanks for giving me a forever home and a short name.  Here's  to a great new year. 0re0
