Yesterday we loaded a container for Haiti. It was a cold windy day and we were wondering if we would have to load it by ourselves as it was a Thursday afternoon and we only had a few days notice to try to get volunteers.
Mr. Wonderful was grouchy just thinking about loading 460 boxes of clothing, 400 chairs, assorted furniture, and computers. I chided him for his gloomy attitude and reminded him we needed to pray about the volunteers.
" It's God's container and God will provide the help", I said knowing if help didn't show up I would be loading items with him. We started unloading stacking chairs from the truck into the container and even I sighed thinking it was going to be a long afternoon.
What happened surprised me....would you believe we ended up with 23 volunteers? Not only did the container get loaded in record time (2 hours and 30 minutes) but several storage units were also reorganized in the process. The guys had a great time and formed a human chain to load the boxes of shoes, and clothing. I recorded the items as they were loaded and had a difficult time keeping up with them. What started out as a chore turned into a delight!
After loading the container the crew prayed over the contents and left. What a testimony to my heart. God is so good, all the time!
