Sunday Seven...Week 6

A weekly meme for giving thanks and/or for noting important events in our lives.

Play along?

1. St. Patrick's Day in Savannah, Georgia is always a Big EVENT. Everybody is Irish and they hold the second largest parade in the US. I miss the green grits, green water in the the fountains, and even the Shamrock Shakes at McDonald's. It was a fun time and I miss the decorations, parade and most of all friends. We were blessed to have lived and raise our children in such a beautiful area.

2. I got this beautifully decorated frame in the mail this week from my better than blood/ blog sister Yellow Rose. Last April I was privileged to meet with Rosie and Cozy (Reader) in Atlanta along with their wonderful husbands. What a gift from God to meet up with these two sassy southern belles. Here's a description of the two from my achieves.

"If you've never met Cozy Reader, you've missed one of the Sassy Southern Divas of Delight. Her whole face lights up when she smiles. She is a powerhouse who will tell you that she is very shy and retiring. Her laughter is loud and contagious, and her zeal for life is refreshing and authentic. In less than a second you feel as if you have known her all your life and you would trust her with your most intimate secrets. She shares her joys openly as well as her personal struggles. We laughed till we cried and we cried till .....the desserts came!

And how do I begin to describe "the Yellow Rose" to you? She is a presence that lights up a room and graces it with fun and laughter. She greets us with gifts and giggly delight. She embraces us as she would a long lost sister and immediately begins to impart greetings from other blogger buddies. She is bubbly, and vivacious, effusive and effervescent. You are immediately captured by her charming wit and sparkling personality. She is a passionate person who entertains us with stories of her family and keeps us constantly in laughter."

3. I got the cutest picture of my Emma Bug and news that she and her family are planning on a June visit. The rest of our chicks are planning on meeting their precious niece and make the pilgrimage home during the visit. Getting all the chicks back in the nest is always hard but something that keeps this Diva grinning from ear to ear!

4. We had two beautiful days of glorious spring weather (temps in the 70's) before we got the 3 inches of snow. One of those days I was able to go out to lunch with two of my special friends (we call ourselves "the Granny Pack") and take some pictures in the park.

5. We collect, sort, and box used clothing for countries all over the world. We now have permission to send out a clothing container ( about 35 thousand pounds of clothing) to Guatemala to people hit by hurricane Stan.

6. This is a Shout-Out to the best children's librarian (that just happens to be related to me) in New York. "Miss Suzy" is a celebrity in her area (especially among toddlers and grade school children) and I get so tickled at her being the guest reader for the 4th Graders or attending a local St. Patrick's Day parade because some of "her kids" would be marching in the parade and she promised she would wave at them.

7. This is a Shout-Out to my amazing mom and her sister (my Aunt Nena). These are two incredible women that have passed on their faith and still continue to minister to others at ages (80 and 75). These are the women I come from and the heritage I want to pass on to my children and their children's children. God is good, all the time!

Your #5 is truly great. Those are a lot of clothings. I'm sure people from Guatemala would be happy to receive all of them. Emma is so cute. I love to hug her. I'm happy that you met two of your bloggers.
My Sunday Seven is up too.

Amen! You DO come from good stock Daisy! Anyone who knows you knows this.

I am definitely going to have to make a strong effort to get down to Savannah so that I, too, can meet Jane and maybe even Yellow Rose! Smiles and laughs like their's I just don't THINK I can live without!!! A road trip is looking better and better all the time!

You know... I wrote my Sunday thanks LAST sunday... this Sunday the Lord and I have managed to stir Satan up something fierce and I'm about ankle deep in it! However... I'm praying and the Lord's listening (i knOw He is!) and I hope to be out of it before it gets up to my neck! Actually... amazingly, I'm feeling pretty peaceful.... but I sure wish you lived closer. I could sure use a midnight chat!

That Emma bug gets cuter by the day... you aren't one of those proud grandma's are you? (wink) It looks like I got such a late start on a family and that Nyssa will do the same... I may be 70 before grandkids show up.

What a cute baby! My little granddaughter is in Waynesboro. I've been able to see her quite a bit since she's been born. I'm coming up in April to stay for a couple of weeks. SRP said to me once that we should meet. I'd love to.

You can see my beauty at my blog. She has cheeks like Emma.
