Ok, I've been faithfully dragging my body to Curves for almost a month now (weigh-in February 9th). I would love to report that I truly love it and am now hooked on exercise.....NOT!
I go three times a week (even got in trouble at work) have met a lot of people but the rebellious nature in me totally hates being told what to do.
I was really discouraged till I met Wilma. Wilma is Melli without red hair. Wilma has lost 60 pounds over the last 18 months. She went from a size (14 -16 already hate her) to a size (4-6) now I totally hate her. God seems to bring Wilm in just as I'm finishing my workout and the curiosity in me makes me stay to pick her brain. She won't let me pick her brain unless I work out next to her thus making me work twice as hard twice as long. (See, you just can't trust skinny people!)
Wilma is big into visualization. She suggest putting up a picture of yourself when you were the size you want to be (do baby pictures count?). Also putting a picture on the refrigerator of a goal that you are working for. Wilma is a real person and has a real life. She has a growing family and works two jobs, She assures me that there is "no magic pill" and it's nice to work out with a real life success story. Now if only her motivation will rub off.
She challenged me to work out with her all this week. I have to meet her tomorrow too. (I told you that just can't trust skinny people!)

Howdy Neighbor! Glad you've made a friend at Curves. Now we just need to do something about the attitude!
Daisy you know you are my friend BUT I have to agree with Beckie...ATTITUDE is everything!! Losing weight starts in your head..brain is more like it!! I love having friends at Curves and I relish any advice I can get...GET with it and take her advice and lose those pounds..Love Ya...Sandy
Hey - did I ever tell you what my friend Celeste says? She says, "Men like meat. Dogs like bones." Ahh yeah.
I think I can relate here. I too hate being told what to do and what not to do particular what to eat and what not to eat. The more they tell me not too, the more I get the urge to do so. I think they're right. It is attitude. I admire people who can really stick to their weight losing programs.
Just dropping by to say Hi.
Dear God,
I DO suuuuurely LOVE Wilma! THANK YOU for bringing WILMA into my dear Daisy's world! And God, it would be OKAY with me, and Sandy, and Beckie (and probly Wilma) if you went ahead and gave Daisy a weeeee little bit better ATTITUDE about it all! Thanks again God! Keep up the GREAT work! You ROCK! And so does Daisy!
Love,
Melli
How exciting that you've met someone who can (and wants to) motivate you. Blessings.
:-) Susan
I agree: exercise=no fun. I'm glad you've met Wilma, though...sounds like you've met your match! Enjoy! (((HUGS)))
Go Ms. Daisy! 1-2-3-1-2-3
You can do it!
LOL!! You are too funny! Get that rear in gear and work, My Daisy!! You are doing great! I love Wilma!!

Congratulations on sticking with your Curves program for almost a month, Daisy. Hang in there for 2 months and I bet you'll be hooked. How about this visualisation: You are the next Wilma - a real Curves Pro, going for the gusto when you exercise, and welcoming hesitant/resistant newcomers to your curvy world of activity. It seems to me like your friends and family are as delicious to you as any treats. If you can get yourself "hooked" on the exercising and look forward to fun with Wilma and other friends you'll surely make at the gym, it will be a recipe for success.
Hang in there lady! You're doing great!

Well, my friend, I understand your frustration. But keep at it, it is important. I have gained four pounds between our Venezuelan trip and the trip to California. I am back on my diet this morning but I am really aggravated with myself. Let's just keep encouraging each other, OK? You can do it and so can I!
i empathize with you, cuz I hate they gym, but you'll get addicted because you'll see the results. :) And it's good to have someone else motivate you.
How awesome that you have met someone who inspires you. That is so important. I can totally get how you feel about the gym though
Daisy - I hope you can keep up with her!
