I adore my Sister-in-law and it wasn't long till we were gabbing in the kitchen fixing the evening meal together while Mr. Wonderful sat in the living room with baby niece Charlotte. Charlotte was a year old and a typically active baby.
Mr. Wonderful promptly picked up a newspaper and began reading totally ignoring Charlotte who began to creep closer and closer to the edge of the couch. Mr. Wonderful, lowered the paper, and said, "Baby, you're going to hurt yourself" and continued reading.
Baby Charlotte decided that this was a new game so she continued to edge closer to the end of the cushion. Again, Mr. Wonderful, lowered the paper, evaluated the situation and said, "Baby, You're Going to Hurt Yourself!" He continued reading, never pulling her back from the edge.
Charlotte continued to the end of the couch and promptly fell off landing on the carpet with a thud. She instantly began crying which caused her beloved "Uncle Wonderful" to look down on her and say, " Baby,I told you that you were going to hurt yourself!"
This was the first glimpse of the future father of my children! Charlotte wasn't hurt which is more than I can say for Mr. Wonderful. She was swept off in the comfort of her mommy while some of the shining armor began to fall off my knight.
To his credit, he was and is a wonderful loving and protective father . Now whenever I want to tease him all I have to say is, "Baby, you're going to hurt yourself."

That's pretty cool. Children really tend to try everything irregardless of what the consequences are. Just proves to us that their minds are still free of fear and whatever fears that hinders them from doing what they feel like doing.
My Monday Memories is up too.
Sounds like he wasn't very used to babies. I'm glad he's cured now.
I think that episode with your niece made him a bit wiser when it came to his own children. :)

Well at least he turned out to be a good DADDY and that is all that matters now!! Maybe baby Charlotte never done that again and she learned a lesson!! My MM will not be up today because we are on our way to visit my cousin (sister)! she and I just adopted each other as sisters. We both have always wanted sisters so we both just decided to be sisters. She lives about 45 minutes from JULIE! Home tomorrow!!

I loved this one! How cute!!!!!!
My beloved daddy was "watching" my kids once...they were about three and four...and gave them some scissors, a stapler, and some paper, then turned back to his computer. Incredibly, no one was hurt, but I wasn't too impressed by his babysitting abilities (the kids thought he was way cool, though...go figure ;) )
